As the US PGA Tour draws to the close of its 2013 season with the Tour Championship this week, golf fans are looking back on an action-packed year. This week's player profile takes a look at the five highest-ranked players on the PGA Tour this season.
Tiger Woods
Topping the FedEx Cup rankings is resurgent world number one Tiger Woods, who made a solid comeback this season after weathering a number of challenges in his personal and professional life.
Woods won his first title of the year in January at the Farmers Insurance Open, following up with victories at the Cadillac Championship, the Arnold Palmer Invitational, The Players Championship, and the Bridgestone Invitational to top the rankings.
As a favourite to win the Tour Championship this weekend, Woods is firmly back at the top of world golf. However, the world number one fell short of a Major title this year.
Henrik Stenson
As the only European in the PGA's top 5 this year, Sweden's Henrik Stenson finds himself in number two position following an impressive win at the Deutsche Bank Championship. Stenson's performance this season has been excellent, with frequent top 10 finishes propelling him up the FedEx Cup rankings.
Adam Scott
Australia's Adam Scott is in third place on the PGA's rankings this season, following his victory at the US Masters this season. Scott was also victorious at the Barclay's Invitational this year, and is the only Australian in the FedEx Cup's top 10 rankings.
Zach Johnson
The American Zach Johnson is in fourth place on the PGA Tour's rankings, with a victory at the BMW Championships earlier this month - Johnson competed in an impressive 23 events this season, paving the way to his victory.
Matt Kuchar
With two wins off 22 tournaments this season; Matt Kuchar of the United States takes fifth place in the FedEx Cup rankings. Kuchar was victorious at the WGC Matchplay Championship and the Memorial Open earlier in the 2013 season.
