PGA and European Tours gear up for festive golf action
Both the US PGA Tour and European Tour were in recess last week as players get ready for a number of exciting events scheduled for the festive season.

European Tour heads for South Africa
The European Tour will be leaving the chilly weather of the northern hemisphere behind for a series of season-opening events in South Africa.

The Tour will head to Sun City, one of South Africa’s premier resorts, for the annual Nedbank Golf Challenge. With a total purse of $6.5 million, this South African event is one of the world’s most prestigious – with a select field of invited players from around the world taking part.

Two more South African events – the Alfred Dunhill Championship and South Africa Open – will round off the European Tour’s festive calendar. The Tour will head to the Middle East in mid-January as it continues its international leg.

US PGA Tour – festive highlights
Unlike its European counterpart, the US PGA Tour doesn’t need to travel far in search of sunny weather. Several events in Florida and Hawaii will offer golfers a much-needed winter warmer as they face off in a series of festive tournaments.
The Hero World Challenge, which tees off on the 4th of December and the Franklin Templeton Shootout the following week will both take place in the warm Florida winter. After a well-deserved festive break, the Tour will head to Hawaii in mid-January for the Hyundai Tournament of Champions at Kapalua.

LPGA Tour – FQT tees off this week
The LPGA Tour is heading to Daytona Beach this week for its annual FQT (Final Qualifying Tournament).

This event will determine the line-up on the LPGA Tour next season, as talented golfers from all over the world face off for an opportunity to play on the world’s best-known women’s golf circuit.
